After my first year of college, I returned to my high school for a summer to work as a tech assistant.
My job included careful updating, reingstalling, and/or configuring Microsoft Windows and other software
on hundreds of machines. I was trusted to work independently for days at a time, and to bring any
problems or complications to my supervisor's attention promptly. I gained valuable experience in working
out configuration issues, as well as carefully cleaning machines physically with Clorox and paper towels.
I also learned to work well with a coworker, and how to take a leadership role when organizing large tasks
that had to be completed within deadlines. Finally, I exercised creative problem solving when setting up
unfamiliar audio equipment for an outdoor celebration at the school.
I left Randolph at the end of the summer to resume my classes at North Dakota State University.
